For a long time I searched for a cheap color e-book, and it was not an easy task… Why? Because I was options like this which are little more than a paperweight with which to throw away money, no matter how cheap they are, or others like the BOOX Tab Mini C7.8 which were completely out of my budget.
Finding the best cheap color eReader —or at a price I considered fair— was one of my goals, so I didn't give up, and I searched and searched. I ended up finding the e-book that I use every day.
We agree that as in a paper book it is not read anywhere, but sometimes for convenience or because the book we want is simply in digital format we want an ebook and here I leave you the best one I have found.

Review of the Bigme B751C, for me the perfect e-book reader
Let it be said in advance that this review and My opinions are not conditioned or promoted. Everything I say here is based on my experience. and how my way of reading has changed thanks to this eReader.
Well, first things first. Let's take a look at the specifications of the B751C by Bigme herself, and we will discuss them in detail later. The truth is that there is almost nothing wrong with it…
Bigme B751C Technical Specifications
The Bigme B751C is an eReader, an electronic ink reader with the peculiarity that it has the option of color ink, which will be very useful especially if we want to read a comic or Manga on it, although there are many books that have illustrations, so perfect.
1. 7″ color screen
As I have already told you, the B751C features a 7″ color screen, which for me, who has had smaller and larger e-books, this size has been the most comfortable.
For me the color screen was a must have since in addition to books I am a fan of reading comics or manga, and obviously with this type of screen we will have a much more complete display than monochrome readers.
In addition, the screen of this Bigme B750C has a Kaleido 3 type offering a resolution of 1264×1680 pixels and 300 PPI (dots per inch) for black and white content. On the color screen the resolution drops to 150 PPI, but don't worry. For the price it looks incredibly good.
Also, another thing I like the most is that the screen has a disposal system ghosting This is used to prevent the appearance of residues of previous images on electronic ink (e-ink) screens, which are usually very annoying.
This option has several levels. Here are some photos.
2. Processor, Operating System and Connectivity
With the B751 you will not have performance problems, since it has a Octa-Core processor running up to 2.3GHz and as an operating system it comes with Android 11 with a layer of customization and applications from the Bigme brand.
Since I have it —about 5 months ago— has been updated at least 3 times, which I love, as it shows that they are paying attention to detail and ensuring that we readers have the best possible experience.
Also, in terms of connectivity, The B751C comes standard with both 2.4 and 5Ghz Wifi to be able to stay connected to the Internet at all times, because in addition to being a reader, it works as a tablet and you can use applications.
It also has Bluetooth, something I was looking for since I usually read with music and so, I can connect, for example, some True Wireless headphones and listen to music while I read my favorite books.
3. Capacity, battery and accessories
Let's talk from memory in this review. We'll have more than enough. B751C comes with 64GB capacity, expandable up to 1TB via the built-in MicroSD card slot. For me, that's more than enough and much more than I'll ever use.
Regarding the battery, It has a capacity of 2300mAh, which will give us days and days if we use it as an e-book reader, but will suffer when using the Artificial Intelligence or navigation options, lasting a little less.
In my daily use, the battery behaves more than decently. If it is only used as an e-reader, the battery lasts several weeks. However, be careful if you also turn up the brightness to maximum, use it with music or read comics. It will last several days, but not as long as in the first case.
4. Measurements and weight
Measurements and weight | |
---|---|
Length: | 136.2 mm |
Broad: | 155 mm |
Thickness: | 7 mm |
Weight: | 212 gr |
5. Applications
One of the advantages it has is that when using Free Android, you can have any application you want, since it has the Play Store installed from the start, so you can have your favorite book or comic reader no matter which one it is.
In addition, it allows applications like TikTok, Instagram or YoutubeOf course, keep in mind the limitations of an e-ink screen and that its performance in videos will never be like that of a mobile phone.
I have some book reading applications installed like Kindle or Nextory, and I have to admit that although I didn't have much hope at first, it works extraordinarily well.
- Handwriting Experience: Global handwriting function supports handwritten notes on PDF or EPUB files with many apps. Bigme B751C color e-reader is equipped with a glass panel and a stylus to give you a smooth paper-like writing experience on a digital device.
- Focus on your idea: With the unique Kaleido 3-color display and various art and note-taking tools, the B751C e-Paper tablet is ready to replace your paper notebook, save your stacks of paper and help you find ideas for work and study.
- Bigme's automatic de-ghosting algorithm function: less power consumption when refreshing, but better comic reading, website browsing and video streaming.
My opinion on the Bigme B751C 7″
After more than 200 days of use, I can share a rather personal opinion about this device. In a nutshell, I consider it to be absolutely perfect for my day to day life, and I think it can be for many other people too.
I'm going to give you a handful of reasons and tell you why I think this way:
Ideal size for a 7″ ereader
The resolution, format and feel in my hands are unbeatable. It is comfortable to read both sitting and lying down, and The screen is just the right size so you don't miss something bigger..
I was previously using a 6″ reader, so this change has meant a considerable improvement in terms of screen size. An 8″ model might have been interesting, and I understand that some people prefer a larger reader, but I personally feel that this size has been a step forward..
Light and comfortable to hold
At just 212 grams, Bigme does not feel uncomfortable even when using it lying in bed or on the sofaIt is easy to handle and is not heavy, unlike some tablets or the Microsoft Surface, which I found annoying.
Color screen, ideal for comics and manga
Although the color screen is not the most advanced on the market, in my opinion, the price is more than justified. If you want something with better color quality, you would have to go for a Boox, and That implies an additional expense of 100 or 200 euros.
For me, who was not used to color readers, it was more than enough. Also, it has motivated me to read manga and comics., something that I previously had to enjoy on larger, bulkier devices.
Accessories: Case and pencil for taking notes
Another feature that I considered the pencil to be essential or stylus. I wanted to be able to interact with the books, underline, take notes and write whatever I wanted while I was readingI know it's not the same as doing it on paper, but I'm sure you understand what I mean...
One of the things I liked most about the pen is the ability to use OCR with a couple of clicks to convert my handwritten strokes into straight lines, create geometric figures or even transform my handwritten notes in typescript. I love it.
That said, don't expect the writing experience to be perfect. It's useful for taking short notes or marking something up, but it doesn't have the precision of a Wacom system or the sensitivity of an iPadIt's handy, and with a little practice you'll get used to it, but it's not ideal if you need to type constantly. Keep that in mind.
Features of artificial intelligence
This seems to me more of a curiosity than an essential tool. The device includes AI functions to generate images, transcribe text and identify voices.. While it sounds interesting and works reasonably well, we all have a phone that can do better.
There are surely applications that will perform these functions faster and more smoothly than this eReader. As I said, it can be useful in specific situations., but I don't think I'll use it very often.
Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity for headphones and keyboard
I have connected Bluetooth headphones exclusively for readingWhy? Because I can listen to Spotify while I read, and it works perfectly in the background, with access to controls in a couple of taps.
This allows me to disconnect from my phone while I read and have the music directly on the Bigme. For me, this is essential.
Android system and applications
Despite the limitations that an ebook reader like this may have, the ability to have all the apps I need, like Readera, Kindle or Nextory or comic book readers, makes the Bigme much more versatile and comfortable to use. It doesn't lack anything.
Value for money
In my opinion, this is the ideal e-book reader, but the price is something to consider before making that claim. It cost me just under 300 euros with accessories., and at that time the closest alternative from other brands cost about 200 euros more.

So now you know. I hope it lasts for many years and for you too. But despite everything, LONG LIVE PAPER!
Hi, can AI summarize certain pages or chapters of a book for you?
Hi! As far as I've seen, it doesn't do that. It can translate pages in real time, but not summarize them. I'll look into it further.
Thanks for commenting!
